This was announced by US Air Force Lieutenant General Michael Lo, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the press service of the US National Guard.

The German-led exercises will focus on operational and tactical field training and will take place in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, and Latvia.

"Air Defender 2023 will test our ability to rapidly deploy and rapidly employ NATO's air power. NATO is a purely defensive alliance. But if someone attacks one country, they will attack all of us," Lo said.

In addition to Germany and the United States, 22 allied countries will take part in the deployment of the Alliance's armed forces. It is reported that about 220 aircraft of 23 types will be involved in the exercise. This makes Air Defender 2023 the largest air force deployment exercise since NATO was founded in 1949.
