Over 900 Ukrainian marines successfully completed training in the UK

More than 900 Ukrainian marines have completed a training course in Great Britain jointly conducted by the Royal Marines and commandos (special forces) during a six-month British program with the support of international partners. The exercises were announced by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's visit to Great Britain in February. This is the first such training for marines that Great Britain is conducting for Ukraine.

Each group of soldiers went through a rigorous five-week program that developed individual skills, including field skills, battlefield first aid, close combat, physical training, and unit planning in realistic scenarios.

During the training, Ukrainian paratroopers practiced, in particular, planning and carrying out landings both during the day and at night, and also learned to operate NLAW anti-tank missile systems, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, mortars, and drones.

It is noted that after completing training, Ukrainian military personnel return to Ukraine.

"The UK is leading the way in training the Armed Forces of Ukraine, providing the world's best frontline combat skills training to over 20,000 Ukrainian army recruits as part of Operation Interflex. This training program, conducted by elite British special forces, will help Ukraine build its naval forces and expand its capabilities to operate in the maritime environment," said British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.

The message reminds that the best instructors of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Australian Union, the Kingdom of Denmark, Canada, the Republic of Lithuania, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the Kingdom of Norway will be involved in the multinational training operation "Interflex" in 2023. , Finland, the Kingdom of Sweden, and Ukraine.
