Jan 12, 2023

Ambassador of Ukraine in Ankara Vasily Bodnar said that a peace summit, which had been previously announced by the official Kiev, could take place on February 24 at the UN headquarters in New York.

He said this in an interview with the Anadolu agency.

Bodnar recalled that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a 10-point peace plan in his speech at the G20 summit and said that the proposal covered such issues as security, including food and energy security, as well as the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.

The ambassador also commented on Kyiv's announced peace summit to be brokered by UN Secretary-General Guterres.

"We believe that this summit will most likely take place at the UN in New York on February 24," the diplomat said.

He also thanked Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, who officially stated that Turkey supports the peace plan proposed by Ukraine and is ready to participate in its implementation.
