At a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino on Saturday, May 18, the head of the Polish government announced a defense plan codenamed “Eastern Shield.”

“We have decided to invest 10 billion zlotys in our security and, above all, in a secure eastern border. We are launching a huge project to build a secure border, including a system of fortifications as well as landscape and environmental solutions that will make this border impassable for a potential enemy,” Tusk said.

In addition, the Polish prime minister complained that Poland has been dealing with provocations and sabotage in recent weeks. He promised to inform the public about the actions of the Polish state against their authors next week.

“We are counteracting, detaining, and arresting those who are trying to attack our homeland, Poland, here on our land. The Polish state will be absolutely merciless towards them,” the head of the Polish government emphasized.
