Putin has significantly increased the staff of the Russian army

Russian dictator Putin today, December 1, decided to increase the staff of the Russian army.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Putin signed a decree setting the authorized strength of the Russian Armed Forces at 2,209,130 people, including 1,320,000 military personnel.

Thus the number of servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces will increase by almost 170 thousand people. The document is published on the Kremlin website and will come into force from the day of its signing.

The Ministry of Defense reported that the mobilization in connection with the increase in the number of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is allegedly not provided for.

"The increase is realized step by step at the expense of contract workers," the ministry added.

Also in the Ministry of Defense came up with a reason for increasing the regular number of the army. The process is linked to the war against Ukraine and "the ongoing expansion of NATO."
