Romania supports the preparation of new EU sanctions against Russia

Romania supports preparing a new package of European Union sanctions against Russia.
This was stated by Secretary of State for European Affairs of the Romanian Foreign Ministry Daniela Gitman during a visit to Kyiv at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Olga Stefanishina, writes European Truth.
"We need Ukraine to win this war. We need Ukraine to have a recovery plan. And we need to show cooperation with Ukraine because Ukraine is part of the European family and should join the EU as soon as the reform process is completed," Gitman said.
According to her, Romania's position on Russia remains unambiguous: Bucharest wants to continue pressure on Moscow and supports the preparation of another package of EU sanctions.
Gitman stressed that Romania remains committed to its commitments to support Ukrainian refugees, as well as to facilitate the transportation of grain from Ukraine from blocked ports.
