"On July 5, joint Russian-Syrian military exercises will begin in Syria and will last for 6 days. During the exercises, it is planned to work out the issues of joint actions of aviation, air defense forces and means of electronic warfare in repelling air strikes," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the occupiers have practically not conducted international military exercises. In rare cases, their partners are countries that are also in international isolation.

In recent months, Russian troops have not conducted large-scale military exercises due to an acute shortage of modern military equipment, which is mostly used for aggression against Ukraine.

However, in early June, the Russian military conducted exercises in the Kaliningrad region of Russia. Up to 40 ships, 25 airplanes and helicopters, and about 3,500 military personnel took part in the exercise.

In addition, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian army has been conducting regular exercises in Belarus.
