Russian State Duma confirms reports of Lukashenko's illness

The State Duma of the Russian Federation confirmed media reports about the possible illness of the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko but did not specify the diagnosis. This will be reported by the Russian media on May 14.

"There's nothing supernatural about it, it's not covid. It's just a person who got sick. Although he was sick, he considered it his duty to come to Moscow, and then in the evening of the same day he held events in Minsk. He probably needs some rest, that's all," said Konstantin Zatulin, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs.

The last time Lukashenka appeared in public was on May 9, when he attended a parade in Moscow in the morning and hurriedly returned to Minsk. The Belarusian media drew attention to Lukashenka's "unhealthy appearance and his inability to walk to Alexandrovsky Garden: he was taken by car to lay flowers."
