Feb 8, 2023

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz plans to make a statement to the Bundestag, probably on March 2.

This was announced by the parliamentary secretary of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Katja Mast, ntv reported.

The occasion is the anniversary of Russia's attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

"In the first week of the Bundestag session after the anniversary, Scholz wants to comment on the consequences of the "turning point" (Zeitenwende) caused by the war of aggression, Mast said.

She recalled a statement by Scholz's government a few days after the Russian attack, in which the chancellor first used the term.

At that time, Scholz, among other things, announced the creation of a special fund for the Bundeswehr of 100 billion euros, which was decided later, and pledged Germany's solidarity with Ukraine.
