Serbs living in the north of partially recognized Kosovo erected new barricades Tuesday night amid tensions in the region that began with Pristina's decision to hold early elections in the northern municipalities with a predominantly Serb population.
This is according to an AP story.
New barricades of laden trucks were set up overnight in the town of Mitrovica in northern Kosovo, divided between Kosovo Serbs and ethnic Albanians.
This is the first time since the start of the latest crisis between Kosovo and Serbia that Serbs have blocked the streets in a major Kosovo town. Until now, barricades have been set up only on roads leading to the Kosovo-Serb border.
