Shmyhal visits Italian air defense systems manufacturer

Ukraine is considering joint production of components for air defense with the Italian defense company Rheinmetall Italia S.p.A.
According to Ukrinform, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this in his Telegram.
"Today I visited the Italian defense company Rheinmetall Italia S.p.A., which specializes in the production of modern air defense systems. Among its developments is the Skynex short-range air defense system. "We need such an effective weapon to defend ourselves against the drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine. This will save dozens of lives and important infrastructure for millions of people," the Prime Minister wrote.
The Prime Minister emphasized that such batteries are already on combat duty in Ukraine. At the same time, "the possibility of joint production of components of these systems is being considered," he added.
"I thank our partners for their support! We are working to have more of these effective air defense systems. They will create a reliable shield around our strategic infrastructure facilities," Shmyhal said.-
