Shooting at Chisinau airport: authorities report two victims

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova confirmed the information about two victims as a result of a shooting at Chisinau airport on Friday afternoon.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The agency emphasized that the relevant state authorities are working on the spot "to return the situation to normal." Among other things, the FULGER special police brigade was involved.


As reported, one of the foreign passengers opened fire at Chisinau airport on Friday afternoon, after which the airport was suspended and passengers were evacuated.

Due to the incident, all flights scheduled for June 30 have been delayed. Airport staff and passengers were evacuated from the building.

According to media reports, the passenger arrived on a flight from Turkey.

Moldova has tightened control at Chisinau airport in the wake of the full-scale aggression against Ukraine amid fears that pro-Russian agents could enter the country.
