On December 4, the European Union extended some of the sanctions against Russia for human rights violations. They will be in effect until almost the end of 2026.
RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to the EU Council.
"Today, the Council extended the EU's global human rights sanctions regime against individuals and entities responsible for serious human rights violations around the world," the statement said.
It is noted that they have been extended for three years, until December 8, 2026. The current restrictive measures will continue to be reviewed annually.
