Dec 8, 2022

The Slovak government on Wednesday approved a new package of military assistance for Ukraine.

Slovak Foreign Minister Rastislav Kacher said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in Kyiv, European Pravda reported.

"We will continue to support you practically in your struggle. Yesterday our government approved a new package of defense assistance. This is ammunition, large calibers, also for fighters, warm clothes, other equipment," Kacher said.

Also, he said, Slovakia will continue humanitarian aid to Ukraine to make it easier for Ukrainians to get through the winter.

Kacher also noted that no one can push Ukraine to negotiate, it must determine the terms of peace itself.

"For those who say, 'We want peace, peace through negotiations,' we answer: "We already tried with Hitler, we already tried negotiations from us, someone tried to negotiate behind our backs... We know, it led to the destruction of Czechoslovakia and to World War II, and the loss of tens of millions of people. We will never do it again," he said.
