Standing in line with men: Russian army tries to mobilize women

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced the launch of a recruitment campaign to recruit women for contract service in the army. If they choose this service, they can be deployed to perform their duties in various locations, including possible participation in hostilities.

The advertising campaign conducted by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation emphasizes the possibility of recruiting women for contract service in the army. The advertisement focuses on women working as doctors, paramedics, nurses, and cooks, and invites them to "stand in line with men."

According to information received from one of the military enlistment offices in Omsk, it is stated that women can be recruited for contract service up to the age of 50 and contracts are concluded for at least 1 year. It is reported that there are no vacations for these women during the contract.

In addition, nurses and cooks do not need to have a degree in their specialty, the publication says.

Although the military enlistment office did not specify where the women would be sent, they noted that they would be sent to serve in the regions of the Russian Federation. It is worth noting that last year the Kremlin announced the annexation of part of Ukraine's territory, in particular, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, which Moscow "included" in Russia.

"The employee could not say how much the women would be paid. But they are entitled to governor's payments: 100 thousand rubles in the first month and 50 thousand in the next three. The women will receive a one-time presidential payment of 195 thousand rubles. They were invited to submit their applications at the recruitment center for military service under the contract," the article says.
