According to a source, Stoltenberg is expected to take over as chairman of the Munich Security Conference after its next meeting in February 2025.

The current head of the security forum, Christoph Goisgen, took office only in 2022.

At the same time, Wolfgang Ischinger, the longtime president of the Munich Security Conference Foundation Board, will retain his position.

It should be noted that former Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has been NATO Secretary General since 2014. However, on October 1, he will be replaced by former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
