Budanov announces a “multiple increase” of ground drones in the war

Currently, a new stage of weaponization has begun in the war started by Russia. It is about the use of ground drones.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, in an interview with The Economist.

According to him, during the war, we should expect the development of technology. In his opinion, there is a simple explanation for this, which not everyone says out loud.

“Drones have no fear. Now a new stage has already begun - ground operations, but they have just begun to make themselves felt. I think their number will increase many times over this calendar year. Because people are in no hurry to go into battle, so to speak. If you can send a drone, 10 drones, or one soldier, they will always choose to send 10 drones, believe me,” Budanov said.

He noted that the development of technology and technological innovations always entail countermeasures.

“It always goes hand in hand, believe me. If someone develops drones, someone will develop electronic warfare, and vice versa. But since, as I'm telling you, drones have become the hallmark of this war and will influence all wars, probably for the next 50 years, it's for sure, it means that these two technologies will always go hand in hand, the development of technology and the development of countermeasures, that is, electronic warfare,” Budanov emphasized.
