Polish FM says Kremlin's nuclear threats are not to be feared

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski believes that the West should not take Russian nuclear threats seriously when deciding whether to lift restrictions on Ukraine's use of Western weapons.

He said this in an interview with Yevropeiska Pravda in Kyiv.

Sikorsky noted that from the point of view of international law, the airfields of the Russian strategic aviation, from which missile carriers that strike Ukraine take off, can be considered a legitimate target, even if they are in the deep rear.

He said he did not understand the delay in lifting restrictions on Ukraine's use of Western weapons, despite the war crimes committed by Russia.

‘I hear from Western journalists about Putin's ‘red lines’ and Putin's threats of escalation. But we also have our own red lines, and for some reason they never ask about them. And secondly, I don't think there is anything that Putin hasn't already done, but will do in response to our actions,’ said Sikorsky.
‘I would be very surprised if he was crazy enough to start a war with NATO. Similarly, his threats about nuclear weapons also remain empty,’ he added.
