Klitschko met with Scholz in Berlin

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the Bild 100 event. He discussed the importance of helping Ukraine with long-range weapons and increasing the effectiveness of sanctions against Russia.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the mayor's Telegram.

“We attended the Bild 100 event with Volodymyr in Berlin. In a conversation with Olaf Scholz, we emphasized that Germany's continued support is extremely important for Ukraine. Help, in particular, with long-range weapons, is critically needed today! And any concessions to Putin will not stop him from further aggressive aspirations. Not only with regard to Ukraine. Our partners must clearly understand this. It is equally important to introduce a stricter sanctions regime and eliminate the loopholes that Russia finds in it,” Vitali Klitschko said.

The Bild 100 is a prestigious annual event organized by the German edition and publishing house Axel Springer that brings together the most influential people - politicians, business, public sector and culture representatives.

This year's informal communication was attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Chairman of the CDU/CSU faction in the Bundestag Friedrich Merz, Premier of North Rhine-Westphalia Hendrik Wüst, Premier of Bavaria Markus Söder, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner, Mayors of Berlin Kai Wegner and Hamburg Peter Czenczer, Vitali Klitschko said.
