German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius hopes that the German government will allocate additional funds for the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Spiegel.

According to Pistorius, negotiations on increasing the current budget for assistance to Ukraine for 2024 in the amount of 7.5 billion euros are “promising” and are likely to be completed by the end of the week.

“Then we will be talking about a significant amount of hundreds of millions of euros,” the German minister said.

Since the NATO summit in July this year, Pistorius has warned that the billions previously budgeted for military support for Ukraine have been largely used or misallocated. For this reason, he repeatedly called for a public increase in the budget for this year.

At the same time, the German Defense Minister did not answer how much money the federal government would allocate to help Ukraine. According to Spiegel, the Defense Ministry expects to receive less than half a billion euros.
