Pezeshkian will meet with Putin in Kazan on October 22-24. According to media reports, they may sign a bilateral cooperation agreement.

Iranian missiles for Russia's war of aggression

The planned visit takes place against the backdrop of intensified military cooperation between the two countries. Iran has recently delivered another batch of weapons to Russia for its war of aggression against Ukraine. U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia had purchased ballistic missiles from Iran and would likely deploy them to Ukraine within weeks.

Blinken added that the deepening ties between Moscow and Tehran pose a threat to the security of Europe as a whole.

Last Tuesday, the United States, Germany, Britain and France reacted by imposing new sanctions on Iran, including measures that would hit the country's national airline, Iran Air.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denied the delivery of ballistic missiles to Russia.
