In particular, Stoltenberg expressed confidence that NATO will make serious decisions regarding Ukraine.

When asked whether Ukraine would receive an invitation to join NATO, he said that the finalization of the final statement was underway.

"We are now finalizing the communiqué, various elements will be in it, then you can read what is in it, rest assured, there will be a strong message for Ukraine," Stoltenberg said.

According to him, Ukraine has become much closer to NATO and "it's time to reflect this in all the decisions of the Alliance."

"We have to stand for Ukraine as long as the war lasts. This is the message from the Alliance since the war began. And we must remember that the war began in 2014, and in 2022 there was an invasion. We have been helping Ukraine since 2014. I am confident that on the membership issue, our members will confirm that Ukraine will become a NATO member," Stoltenberg said.

He added that if Russian dictator Vladimir Putin defeats Ukraine, it will be bad not only for Ukraine but for the whole world.

"They will make the world more dangerous and we will become vulnerable. That's why we strongly support Ukraine," the Secretary-General summarized.
