Sweden names another reason for the delay in ammunition production

Apr 1, 2024

Sweden has reported a delay in the production of new ammunition in the country due to queues for testing.

This was reported by SVT.

Queues for testing shells are another weak link in European defense production, along with a lack of production capacity and access to raw materials and personnel.

As noted, problems with delays in this regard exist throughout Europe.

Stefan Krol, head of the test center at Swedish arms manufacturer Bofors, spoke about the biggest problem in the work of such centers.

"The test center, which has to test all the batches (of ammunition - Ed.) that are delivered, cannot work in five shifts because we need daylight to work," he said.

According to the article, the queue at the Bofors test center in Karlskuga is currently a year long.
