The AFU tells about the new tactics of Russians near Avdiivka

The Tauride Defense Forces stated that Russian occupation forces are continuing their attempts to surround Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.

The Russian military command is replenishing the bloodless assault units, said Oleksandr Stupun, spokesman for the Tauride Defense Forces, during a telethon.

"If we roughly characterize the tactics of the Russian generals in using their subordinates, it is 'take a position or die,'" he said.

The spokesperson emphasized that it is because of this position of the Russian command that the number of deserters is growing, and officers and commanders are forced to use barrier units, physical force, and sometimes even shootings of their subordinates.

"The enemy's offensive to the east of Keramik, as well as in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka were unsuccessful. A total of 26 attacks were repelled there over the last day," noted Stupun.

Ukrainian defenders repelled 22 attacks in the area of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka, while in the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Staromayorsk.

"In total, the enemy lost 531 people in the Tavria operational area yesterday, and 5 occupiers in the Donetsk region surrendered. 36 units of military equipment were destroyed. Among them are 2 air defense systems and 2 units of special equipment. Moreover, 2 ammunition depots and 3 other objects that are quite important for the enemy were destroyed," said Stupun.
