The IDF begins the third phase of the operation against Hamas

The IDF is launching the third phase of its ground offensive against Hamas. The military surrounds the city of Khan Yunis.
This was stated by IDF Chief of Staff Hertsy Halevi, RBC-Ukraine reports regarding The Times of Israel.
He clarified that the military is at the stage of encircling the city of Khan Younis, which is located in the south of the Gaza Strip.
At the press conference, Halevi also stated that the military knew in advance that Hezbollah would resume its attacks on northern Israel after the week-long truce with Hamas.
"In 60 days since the start of the war, our forces are encircling the Khan Yunis district in the south of Gaza. At the same time, we are working to deepen the gains in the northern part of the sector. Whoever thought that the IDF would not know how to resume hostilities after the ceasefire was wrong. Hamas feels this keenly," Halevi said.
