Bardella said that the victorious results of his party and allies - more than 33% of the vote - are a "categorical verdict" that the French "clearly want change."

He added that the vote on July 7, when the winners in the majority districts will be finally determined, will be "one of the most decisive in the history of the Fifth Republic."

Earlier, Bardella said that he was interested in running for the prime ministerial post if the National Union and his associates receive an absolute majority, and he reiterated this position.

"If the voters give us an absolute majority, I am ready to be the prime minister of all French people," he said.
