Official Washington maintains a consistent position in its demands to the Russian Federation - it includes several clear and unambiguous calls.
This was stated at a press briefing by Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Vedant Patel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Our message to Foreign Minister Lavrov and any official representative of the Russian Federation is very clear," the State Department spokesman said.
In this way, he commented on a question from a Russian journalist about whether Washington believes that recent events, in particular the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, are an opportunity for a telephone conversation between Secretary of State Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.
"You have to get out of Ukraine, you have to release Paul Whelan and Evan Hershkovich, you have to withdraw your forces immediately and stop your illegal and unjustified invasion of Ukraine," Patel told the Russian journalist.-
