The Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Christopher Cavoli, has said that F-16 fighter jets remain important for strengthening Ukraine's military capabilities and spoke about the difficulties in training the Ukrainian military.
Cavoli said this at a hearing of the US House of Representatives Armed Services Committee, Voice of America quoted him as saying.
The commander of NATO's forces in Europe noted that the F-16, like "any aircraft", will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the transition from Soviet aviation to a modern fourth-generation fighter jet is causing difficulties for Ukrainian pilots.
"We are working on it together with them, a whole coalition of countries is working on it. In the end, it will be an extremely valuable thing for them," the general said.
