According to him, the United States is grateful to Denmark and the Netherlands for leading the effort to train Ukrainian pilots. Other countries have also joined the effort, and it is ongoing. Austin noted that everyone is determined.

At the same time, the Pentagon chief said, the United States still has to approve the pilot training system and take other measures.

"We are continuing to work with Denmark and the Netherlands, but of course, it will take some time. But we are moving forward on this issue vigorously and other partners are involved," Austin said.

It should be noted that over the past few weeks, Ukraine's allies have begun to actively consider training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters and other combat aircraft. This happened after U.S. President Joe Biden supported the initiative.

According to media reports, the training of Ukrainian pilots could take four months. According to unconfirmed reports, the Pentagon has reached this estimate.
