U.S. won’t supply Ukraine with long-range missiles, Britain will do it

May 10, 2023

The Biden administration is not planning to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles, as the UK is scheduled to supply such weapons.

This is reported by Politico.

It is noted that London intends to provide Ukraine with missiles with a range of 300 km. This is the same range as the army tactical missile system known as ATACMS, which Washington refused to give to Kyiv.

"Our policy on ATACMS has not changed," the paper's sources noted. Instead, the U.S. will continue to provide air defense equipment such as Patriot systems, ammunition and armored vehicles to Ukraine.

As a reminder, in a May 2 procurement announcement, Britain's Ministry of Defense asked for "expressions of interest" in providing strike capabilities with a range of up to 300 kilometers.
