The United Kingdom has become the first country to train Ukrainian pilots according to NATO standards.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Vadym Prystaiko said this during a telethon, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
"Pilots will be able to be quickly retrained for specific equipment in the future. If politicians make a final decision on the F-16, these pilots who have taken the British course will quickly master it. And this is the role of Britain, which is taking a step forward," he said.
Prystayko added that discussions on the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine are ongoing, but it is Britain that does not have these fighters.
