The shortage of weapons in the Ukrainian military led to the Ukrainian Armed Forces having to retreat from the city of Avdiivka, which was captured by the Russians.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, RBC-Ukraine reports citing CNN.

"The city of Avdiivka would not have been lost if Ukraine had "received all the artillery ammunition necessary to defend it," Kuleba said.

According to him, people need to understand one simple thing - the adoption of the law on assisting Ukraine is important, but it takes time to send things to the front.

"And while this decision has not yet been made, plus consider the logistics, all this time our soldiers will be sacrificing their lives on the front line, holding the line against the superior Russian forces," he said.

Kuleba noted that the only reason Ukrainians are forced to sacrifice their lives now is because "someone is still discussing the decision."

"I respect the internal politics of the United States and I will not interfere in it, but I just want everyone to remember that every day of debate in one place means another death in another place," he emphasized.
