Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna said that the French government has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Ukraine on its path to the EU.

She said this in Paris after a series of meetings with French officials with whom she coordinated positions before the December summit of the European Council, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We have done our homework, and we have shown results that leave no room for manipulation even for some of Ukraine's neighboring countries. Moreover, our French colleagues confirmed that the issue of Ukraine is now mainly a matter of internal discussion between member states, not that there are any additional expectations from us," said Olga Stefanishyna after a meeting with Laurence Boone, Secretary of State for European Affairs at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

According to her, the French understand all the steps Ukraine has taken and are ready to make efforts to ensure that the decisions needed by our country are made in December.

"Ukraine's progress is a strategic interest of France, which is a leader of the general discourse on the future of Europe and EU reform," emphasized Stefanishyna.

She also informed Laurence Boone about additional steps that Ukraine will take to strengthen the decisions of the European Council. In particular, at this week's plenary session, the Verkhovna Rada is going to adopt a draft law on national minorities. This is a government document that provides for special amendments to the previously adopted framework laws.
