Ukraine should have received F-16 aircraft two years ago

Ukraine was supposed to receive F-16 fighters two years ago. But now Ukraine needs to prepare for the use of these aircraft.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Lieutenant General of the US Air Force Reserve David Deptula in an interview with ArmyInform.

“Ukraine was supposed to receive F-16s two years ago... But that's in the past... Ukraine needs to prepare to use these aircraft in the quantity it is receiving now,” he said.

The American general believes that F-16s will strengthen the Ukrainian Air Force, but their number matters. According to Deptula, the more F-16s and the better versions Ukraine can get, the stronger the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be in the future.

“Partner countries should increase the number of F-16s provided to Ukraine; they should provide advanced F-16 units as well as modern weapons for the F-16. This will be a continuation of strengthening the capabilities of the Air Force,” the US general said.
