Ukraine to increase production of missiles and equipment several times

Ukraine plans to significantly increase production of various types of weapons next year. The main emphasis will be on air defense.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

We are talking about a wide range of air defense systems: from conventional man-portable air defense systems to systems with a range of more than 100 kilometers, such as the Coral air defense system, the defense ministry explained.

According to Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, who spoke during a national telethon, the Defense Ministry, together with the Ministry of Strategic Industries, wants to increase the production of missiles, ammunition, weapons, and military equipment several times in 2024.

He pointed out that the approved budget for the next year provides for the allocation of about 175 billion hryvnias for the purchase of missiles and ammunition.

This will allow the Ukrainian Defense Forces to "adequately resist Russian aggression," the Defense Ministry representative emphasized.

The ministry states that the priorities for 2024 will be to strengthen Ukraine's air defense shield and develop the domestic defense industry.
