Umerov calls for lifting restrictions on strikes deep into Russia

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov had a telephone conversation with Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin.
The Ukrainian minister wrote about it on Twitter, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
During the conversation, they discussed the events at the front in Ukraine and the urgent needs of the Ukrainian defense forces.
“I once again emphasized the importance and urgency of lifting the ban on long-range strikes. Ukraine must have the right to destroy enemy airfields from which warplanes bomb Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure,” Umerov said.
In his turn, Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder informed journalists that Austin reiterated his unwavering support for Ukraine in the war unleashed by Russia.
They also discussed the steps taken by the allies to support Ukraine, as well as the results of the NATO summit held earlier this month in Washington.
“Minister Umerov provided Secretary Austin with an update on the dynamics of the situation in Ukraine as Ukrainian forces continue to bravely fight Russian aggression,” Ryder said.-
