US House of Representatives approves $300 million for Ukraine

Sep 29, 2023

Late on Thursday night, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to allocate $300 million to support Ukraine.

This was reported by Politico.

These funds were removed from the draft US defense budget and voted for separately.

In addition, the House of Representatives passed an $826 billion defense spending bill.

Although both bills were approved, Democrats fear that the allocation of aid to Ukraine in a separate bill will be presented by Russian propaganda as an abandonment of Ukraine.

"The Russians are good at propaganda. It will look like America is abandoning its commitment to Ukraine," said Adam Smith, a Democrat member of the House Armed Services Committee.
