US State Department comments on China's peacekeeping efforts

The Ukrainian people, not a third party, should decide how and when the armed confrontation with Russia will end.
This is how US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma commented on China's peacekeeping efforts to end the war in Ukraine in an interview with Ukrinform.
"I cannot speak about China's position. However, I would like all countries to oppose the aggression. I would like all countries to support Ukraine's reconstruction needs. These needs exist today. And in the end, the people of Ukraine have to decide for themselves how and when this conflict will be ended. This is not for an outside force to decide," Verma emphasized.
As you know, China has recently launched an active diplomatic engagement in the Ukrainian direction. Chinese envoy Li Hui is visiting Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany, and Russia this week.

According to Beijing, he is discussing the prospects for a political settlement of the "Ukrainian crisis" during the meetings. At the same time, the Chinese side does not call Russia an aggressor country.
