The State Department spokesman said that he did not want to give an assessment of the upcoming visit of the Ukrainian minister to China.

At the same time, Miller emphasized the importance of China “hearing directly from Ukraine about the losses that Ukraine has suffered as a result of Russian aggression, which we know China supports by doing a lot to rebuild the Russian defense industrial base.”

“We have always clearly stated that it is important for every country in the world to recognize that there is an aggressor and a victim in this conflict. And we should not treat both sides as if they are equally responsible or as if this is some kind of war that just magically appeared out of nowhere and neither side is responsible for it,” he said.

The State Department spokesperson added that the United States clearly emphasized this when talking to the Chinese side.

Dmytro Kuleba arrived in Beijing for the first time since Russia's full-scale invasion for talks aimed at finding a possible role for China in ending the war. The three-day visit of the Ukrainian minister began on July 23.
