During the preparation of the material, the statements of former and current Canadian officials, the Ministry of Defense of Canada, and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, Yulia Kovaliv were used.

It is worth noting that Canada began transferring weapons even before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. It was about small arms and night vision devices. Already after a week of active fighting in 2022, the former Minister of National Defense of Canada, Anita Anand, announced the transfer of a batch of M72 LAW anti-tank grenade launchers to Ukraine. Subsequently, Ukraine received the first battery of 155-mm M777 howitzers from Canada.

And in April 2022, Canada announced the supply of 8 Roshel Senator armored vehicles and Carl Gustaf ATGMs to Ukraine. Then, Kyiv received 39 Canadian LAV III Kodia armored fighting vehicles.

In 2023, the delivery of 200 Roshel Senator armored vehicles was announced to Canada, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the delivery of a total of eight Leopard 2 tanks.

The country also decided to send 50 armored vehicles and special sanitary evacuation vehicles for the Armed Forces. In addition, Canadian instructors will train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters. In April, it became known that Ukraine will receive 450 SkyRanger multipurpose drones, as announced by the Canadian Ministry of Defense.

In total, Canada has spent about $2 billion on aid to Ukraine, while a multi-year aid plan of $1.6 billion is currently being prepared.
