Nov 30, 2022

US diplomats are working on organizing a working group to coordinate deliveries of generators, transformers and other equipment to Ukraine.

The goal is urgent restoration of the power grid after the Russian attacks.

This was reported by the New York Times.

According to the outlet, talks about this began during the G7 summit in Münster in early November.

So far, they involve the G7 countries and their "closest partners", the next meeting of the working group should be held in early December in Paris.

The contact group on Ukrainian defense, organized by the U.S. in early April, serves as a model for this endeavor.

More than 50 countries and organizations are already participating, and the group meets monthly in the so-called "Rammstein" format. The name is borrowed from the military base in Germany, where the first meeting was held. Allies discuss the current needs of Ukraine in weapons and military equipment.

Earlier, it became known that the United States will allocate $53 million to purchase equipment needed to restore Ukraine's energy system after Russian attacks.
