Sweden will provide Ukraine with an aid package worth EUR 9 million. It includes two vessels with equipment to strengthen maritime security.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Swedish Minister of Civil Defense Carl-Oskar Bolin during a joint briefing with Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
According to Bolin, the aid package includes two ships with equipment to strengthen maritime security. The ships will be transferred to the units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS).
In addition, the package includes 40,000 protective masks and respirators to be used by representatives of the State Emergency Service.
“We are monitoring the situation and recognize that Ukraine is fighting for the entire civilized world. And we will continue to support you fully, because the security of the whole of Europe depends on you,” the Swedish minister said.
Bolin added that Sweden intends to expand cooperation between the Ukrainian and Swedish ministries.
“We share your vision of the security situation, which certainly has an impact on Sweden. In addition, we want to learn from your experience in order to strengthen our security forces as well,” he said.-
