The missile was launched at 23:01 on November 5, Pacific Time.

A team of Air Force Global Strike Command pilots and a Navy crew launched a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile equipped with multiple targeting warheads from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

It is noted that such tests have been carried out more than 300 times, and they were not a reaction to current events in the world. The launch of the missile is a demonstration that the US nuclear deterrent is safe, reliable and effective in deterring threats and reassuring allies.

The Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile carrier traveled approximately 4,200 miles (over 6,700 kilometers) to the Ronald Reagan Missile Defense Test Site in the Marshall Islands.

As a reminder, North Korea recently launched an intercontinental ballistic missile. Japan said that the North Korean missile flew for 86 minutes. This is the longest recorded flight of a DPRK missile.
