Britain will become the first country to launch a training program for Ukrainian pilots to fly U.S. F-16 fighters.
This was reported by Foreign Policy.
According to the publication's sources, 20 pilots will undergo basic ground training. The unnamed representative of the British government also noted that the training will consist of several stages.
"This will be ground-based basic training of Ukrainian pilots who will then be ready for more specific F-16 (or other) training," the unnamed British official said.
According to media reports, Ukraine will send English-speaking cadets to speed up the training process.
As a reminder, earlier in May, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that Britain would start training Ukrainian pilots as early as this summer.
