This was stated by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing a broadcast of the first plenary session of the peace summit.

According to the British Prime Minister, Russia wanted to disrupt the peace summit because it felt threatened by the discussion of the principles of international law.

"We should ask: why does Russia feel so threatened by a summit that discusses the fundamental principles of territorial integrity, food, and nuclear security?" Sunak emphasized.

In addition, the British prime minister recalled how shortly before the peace summit, Russia's representative to the UN said that the only topic of international meetings on Ukraine should be "the unconditional surrender of the Kyiv regime."

"Well, this will never happen. Because aggression cannot and should not prevail," Sunak responded to the Russian representative's words.
