The administration of US President Joe Biden has opposed the decision of Spain, Norway, and Ireland to recognize Palestine as a state, emphasizing that it supports recognition through diplomatic negotiations with the participation of Israel.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to CNN.
“Biden is a strong supporter of a two-state solution to the Middle East conflict (Israel and Palestine - ed.) and has been throughout his career,” said the spokesman for the US National Security Council.
He added that the US president “believes that a Palestinian state should be established through direct negotiations between the parties, not through unilateral recognition.”
CNN also recalls that Biden himself recently confirmed that he supports the two-state solution, calling it “the only solution where two peoples live in peace, security, and dignity.”
