In the face of Russia's large-scale offensive, the United States is making continuous efforts to ensure that military aid is delivered directly to the combat positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was stated on Friday in Washington by White House Counselor John Kirby, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We are closely monitoring Russia's offensive in northeastern Ukraine and are working around the clock to get weapons and equipment into the hands of the Ukrainian military to help them repel these attacks,” the White House spokesman said.

He reminded that after U.S. President Joe Biden signed the National Security Authorization Act in April, he immediately ordered the allocation of specific aid packages. Since then, the United States has allocated two packages under presidential authority and another $6 billion through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which will be used to purchase new weapons from manufacturers for Ukraine. In addition, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced another $2 billion package of assistance under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program during his visit to Kyiv this week.
