May 17, 2024

The European Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex has decided to continue supporting the Border Guard on Finland's eastern border.

Currently, there are 26 Frontex border guards working in Finland. Of these, 20 are on the eastern border, and six are at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Frontex has also deployed patrol vehicles and other surveillance equipment to Finland.

The number of Frontex personnel will remain unchanged in the future. If necessary, the Border Guard Service may request the agency to increase the number of border guards on the eastern border.
