At least 204 people, including 4 children, have been killed in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

"We, the people of Bakhmut, have lost a lot. But the worst losses are human lives. Since the beginning of the war, 505 of our residents, including 17 children, have been injured by mine-blast traumas. Unfortunately, 204 died, including four children (as of May 29, 2023 - ed.)."
According to the mayor, before Russia's full-scale invasion, about 80,000 people lived in the Bakhmut community, 70,000 of whom were residents of Bakhmut.
As of May 29, about 500 people remained in the city.
