On Sunday, December 8, the heads of the US and Ukrainian counterparts, Lloyd Austin and Rustem Umerov, had a telephone conversation. The parties discussed planning for the next Ramstein.

According to Major General Pat Ryder, the ministers discussed the latest developments on the battlefield and US security assistance to Ukraine.
“Secretary Austin briefed Minister Umerov on U.S. security assistance aimed at providing the capabilities Ukraine needs to fight Russian aggression,” Ryder said.
In addition, the representatives of the states discussed the planning of the next meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense and the continued strong support of our country by international partners.
The defense ministers also promised to maintain close contact.
